Nowadays many companies around the world are challenging each other and taking pride to produce what we call the hybrid vehicles or the green cars. Many companies became interested in making this machine like Nissan, Volvo, Mitsubishi and Renault. The questions we must ask ourselves now are will this affect our lives for the better and what are the advantages of it. In this assignment I am going to talk about the history of hybrid cars and also discuss some advantages that show to us the good things about this machine and the disadvantages of it.
First of all, what do we mean by hybrid cars or the green vehicles? The definition of it is an automobile that works using two or more sources like electrical energy and solar energy and it uses a battery to store this energy to run that auto.
History of hybrid cars:
The first electric car was built in 1828. Ányos Jedlik, who made the first electric motor and created the small car running by his new motor; after six years, in 1834, the first American DC electrical motor was made by Vermont blacksmith Thomas Davenport. He operated on a circular electrified track. In 1835, Professor Sibrandus Stratingh and his assistant Christopher Becker created a small-scale electrical car. It was powered by non-rechargeable primary cells. Scotsman Robert Davidson built in 1838 an electric locomotive that reached a speed of 4 mph equal to 6.4 km/h. Between 1832 and 1839, Robert Anderson of Scotland created a crude electrical carriage. Trade electric vehicles flourished in Europe because of Gaston Plante in France in 1865 and his fellow countryman Camille Faure in 1881. In 1867, at the World Exposition in Paris an Austrian Franz Kravogl put his electric-powered two-wheel cycle on display. France and Britain were the first nations that supported the development of electric vehicles.

Vehicle types:
Cycle-type and two-wheel vehicles. There are a lot of cycles like mopeds, electric bicycles, and even electric kick scooters which are a simple type of hybrid working by an internal combustion engine or electric motor. Human power and motor torque are added together. Some hybrid bicycles use power generators using the pedals. This action is converted into electricity.

Advantages of hybrid vehicles:
1) Hybrid Car Maintenance:
In general hybrid cars cost more than normal cars, but the good thing is they don’t need much maintenance, such as petrol and gasoline cars and don't need any type of additional maintenance on their components. The only maintenance that car may need is the replacement of the air filter on some battery systems every 60,000 kilometers and changing the oil filter as normal vehicles every 5,000 or 10,000 km.

2) Air pollution of hybrid vehicles:
Hybrid cars minimize the air pollution more than gasoline cars. According to the Green Car Club, the hybrid cars are helping the environment.

3) Using light materials on hybrid vehicles:
By reducing the weight of the cars they can let the vehicle run more kilo metes. A hybrid car uses less energy as you accelerate or drive up a road. They use carbon fiber or aluminium and magnesium to reduce weight.

Disadvantages of hybrid vehicle:
· Limited Speed:
One of the disadvantages is limited speed. It continues to be a common consumer complaint in all hybrid lists. Especially in the first generations of hybrid vehicles, consumers complained of the lack of power. Hybrids reportedly do not accelerate as quickly as gasoline cars. Reaching and maintaining highway speeds can be a challenge. Hybrid technologies tried to solve this disadvantage. New models show faster acceleration than their earlier versions and are better able to handle highway speeds, but there is still a chance for more improvement.
