Last Friday in Dubai October 28, 2011, more than 12000 people join and take part in the largest walk in the UAE for supporting the breast cancer patients at Burjuman. They waited to register early in the morning. Each adult charged Dh50 and a child Dh30 to participate in the event. The entertainment for families included band, free drumming and breakfast offers.
Sabina Khandwani spokesperson for the campaign told the news. The money that they got it will provide for free X-rays and help provide support for breast cancer patients and educate women. “It’s important to keep reminding the target audience,” she said.
The doctors are try explain that breast cancer is a major killer in the UAE, but early checks can easily save lives. The bad news is women 10 years are younger than the world average, But the good news is that more women in UAE are becoming aware of the need to take care of themselves.
The only problems that facing us are that older Emirati woman cannot accept that advice, but they are learning from the younger generation in their families. In second, Breast Cancer tests are not covered by health insurance. This month many health care centres give half price discounts for a mammogram check.
